The national games the most important sport event in indonesia is pon. Pon is stand for pekan olah raga national which also means national games. It was first held in solo in september 1949. Only few provinces participated in that game because the indonesian people were struggling to defend their independence pon is held once in four years in different places. Any city in indonesian can be the host of pon as long as it is able to hold them. The participants of pon come from each province in our country, which is represented by its best athletes to begin the competition there is an opening ceremony. It is started by lighting of the pon torch raising of the pon flag, the parade of the participants and the reading of the oath the athletes compete in two kinds of sports; the athletics, which consists of, track events and field events, and games such as volleyball, football, and tennis. The winners get medals for the honour. The first winner gets gold, second winner or runner up gets silver and the third winner get bronze medals—————————————————————————————4.
